cataScience

Learn to prepare, explore, and explain data through interactive lessons and practical exercises.

The question

How can someone new to data learn a complete workflow and understand the choices made along the way?

What the app offers

Interactive modules cover data import, missing values, outliers, text cleaning, joins, visualisation, and basic statistics. Additional materials introduce practical use of AI assistants, with the learner responsible for checking the results.

Who it is for

People starting to work with data, trainers planning hands-on sessions, and teams building confidence in everyday analysis.

A starting point

Install from CRAN with install.packages("cataScience"), then launch the original learning app:

library(cataScience)
    run_cata()

The documentation also describes the extended workshop app and its learning path.

Learning through examples

The project includes example datasets and practical exercises. Some workshop datasets are synthetic teaching materials; they should be read as training examples, not country estimates.

My contribution

I am the package author and maintainer. The app was developed for data trainings, with general learning content that can also be used for self-study.
